This example uses the California Tortilla in Bethesda in the US shows how simply and quickly an effective email campaign can be implemented.

They wanted to make the most of rainy or snow days, when custom is usually slow. First, they used brightly coloured flyers asking patrons for their e-mail addresses in exchange for a free burrito. When really bad weather is forecast for the following day and they expect to be quiet, out go the e-mails offering free chips or queso with lunch or dinner. The result? They average around 130 meals a day instead of staring at empty tables. The communication is done in a
friendly and fun manner, with patrons playing along by being obliged to bring in a piece of paper with the day’s corny’ “password” written on it – enabling the owners to measure results.

Spend a few minutes applying this concept to your own business  … chances are you”ll come up with a great

idea!
